Separate notes with spaces. Use: C D E F G A B for plain notes, C# Db D# Eb F# Gb G# Ab A# Bb for sharps/flats, C2 etc. for the upper octave, - for a rest. Notes outside the two-octave mat range will be adjusted automatically.

The importer reads the melody track from your file and converts MIDI note numbers to mat notes. Notes outside the two-octave mat range are shifted by octave to fit. If the song has multiple tracks, choose the one that carries the main melody.

Tips & troubleshooting

Wrong notes, right rhythm. Almost always a mat facing issue. Stand on two mats of the same colour — if they sound different, they're facing different ways. Every mat in the whole path must face the exact same direction.

Notes missing or doubled. Walk, don't run. Don't cut across corners of squares.

High Do sounds late. A known game bug before v2.0.0 — update the game.

Test first. Build the Test scale preset (eight mats in a straight line). It should climb evenly. If it doesn't, the problem is in the mat facings.

About the rhythm. Wider gaps between mats = longer walk = longer note. Practise your walking speed. Switch to "even spacing" if you want to keep it simple.
